(If the Basic Rate of Tax remains 22%, the above calculations will remain useful in following tax years).
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
I don't pay UK tax can I use Gift Aid?
To use Gift Aid you must have paid at least the amount you are donating as UK tax in the same Tax Year.
Where can I check that I have paid enough tax?
A/ If you have a weekly or monthly pay packet, check the payslip for Tax paid this month/week or Year to Date.
B/ If you have received Investment Income or Dividend Payments, the letter that was attached or came with it will show the amount of tax deducted.
C/ If you receive Bank or Building Society Interest and you cannot see the tax deducted amount, but the interest is paid net on your statement or passbook, Credit Interest of £11.60 would have generated a payment to the Tax Man of £2.90.
I'm a Higher rate taxpayers
If you are a higher rate taxpayer, to help you to complete your tax return please note on your Gift Aid declaration form that you require confirmation of the amounts you have paid to us for each of the Tax years from 2000/2001 to date.
Remember if you have paid UK Tax your Subscription or Donation can be worth an extra £2.82 for every £10 you give us. That is more than 28% greater and it won't cost you a penny more!
PLEASE if you can, sign our declaration form and hand it in or return it to us without delay.
